March Madness - NCAA Mens Basketball Picks

Published by jakob under Uncategorized

You know what time it is? March madness time! The greatest, most thrilling, and lucrative thing to watch on television all year. Have you been following all year? Do you have your ncca mens basketball picks yet for march madness? Well if you don’t…You need to seriously start doing some research and coming up with your winning picks.

There is nothing like entering your local march madness pool at work and winning! You impress them with your ncaa mens basketball tournament predictions. It is more than just winning first place in the pool; your pride, dignity, and self-respect is on-the-line. If you were bragging all year how good you are in the march madness tournament and know your ncaa odds of winning out of 64 teams and you give yourself a total let down your ego will be deflated.

Let me give you a little piece of advice. Do NOT pick all number one seeds to go to the final four. The last time just 3 number one seeds went to the final four was in 2001! March madness is not like daily nba picks where it is EXTREMELY predictable, you have to live on the edge of your seat and take risks.

You need to take smart college basketball favorites to use in your march madness pool or brackets. You need to read in between the lines for example, if you see a 12 vs 5 seed match up and the 12th seed has potential of crushing the 5th seed, more than likely it will indeed happen. Or that 15th seed beating the number 2 seed a few years ago? Remember Iowa State going down? It happens all the time that’s why it is called march madness. It is were Cinderella teams are born. Remember George Mason? They made a name for themselves going to the final 4 a few years ago? I bet you didn’t have them in your bracket to go to the final 4 that year? Well I did!

I study ncaa mens basketball picks ritually, at least 5 hours a day. All trends, statistics, injuries, location, etc… to come up with the best picks. I play more for a constant stream of incoming, then as a hobby. I have a love for the game and by far march madness is the best time of the year. The college basketball odds of winning all 64 games are slim to none, well if you do there are plenty of sites willing to pay you over a million dollars or more.

If you do a little research, planning, studying, and praying you may be on the road to winning millions of dollars. Anything can happen, especially in march madness. Throw the ncaa odds out the door for number one teams winning it all, more than likely it is going to be a number 4 or 5 seed coming from know where to snatch the title. Should I say Syracuse? They had such an incredible run. If you are a sports fan, march madness is seriously what it is all about!

Hall of Fame Standard

Published by jakob under Uncategorized

Every year, there is a chance open for players to make the coveted NBA hall of fame. These players are judged by their careers and what they have done in the years as a player. Some players such as Magic were inducted even though he did not play very long because of how he dominated the game. The same can go for Bill Walton. It is said that he only averaged 13 points in his career but was inducted for the same reason. Other players make the hall of fame on the length of their career such as Karl Malone. The amount of years played allows for a chance to build up player stats such as points in career and rebounds. Since stats are important in judging whether a player can be considered for the hall of fame, longevity is important.

Many of the players today that play, dream about making the hall of fame at the end of their careers. They feel that they can make a lasting mark in history and would like to be remembered for all time. This is the ultimate goal for any player because it puts to work the achievements of everything over a course of a career. Playing is meaningless if you are not remembered which is why making the hall is something superstars try to do. Many people who do not have the skills to make the hall of fame choose not to. They continue to play understanding their limits as a player and many try to make as much money as they can.

Many greats have made the hall and some who are questionable have also. Making the hall of fame depends on the staff of writers who vote. It also depends on the people who are in ballot because it will be harder to make the hall if you are up against better players. Some people are given another chance, if they can receive enough votes and can be voted again next year. If they do not have enough votes, they can never be voted for the hall again. The hall of fame is a group of elite ball players and is something many people can find inspiration in. They know that in order to make it, they have to be extremely good at what they do. This gives motivation to players who otherwise may lack. Having made the money, and not being able to win can dampen the motivation of players alike. This is why having this system benefits everyone.

Secret to Improve Girls Basketball Skills

Published by jakob under Uncategorized

I watched a youtube video of Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies point guard, going through some basketball dribbling drills. This young man has some great dribbling skills.

He is dribbling the basketball in front of his body, to the side of his body, between his legs, around the back, using both hands at the same time. He can handle the basketball just as effectively with his left hand as his right hand. You can tell that he has been working on his skills for a long period of time because of how confident he looks.

In his message about the video, he describes that the video is just the beginning of his workout routine he performs EVERYDAY of the summer. The video was just the warm up. It was a very intense warm up.

How does this relate to improving girls basketball skills? Mike Conley said that the video was a part of his everyday summer workout routine. Mike Conley knows the key to improving his game and reaching his goals. He did something everyday. To improve your skills do something everyday. Or do something consistently.

I was known as a great shooter. But how did I become a great shooter? I did what Mike Conley said he did during the summer. I was consistently working on my shooting. I would practice my free throws. I would practice my 3 point shots. I would practice shooting from the corners.

Your basketball skills will not improve in one day but over a period of days or time.

Bob McAdoo - A Hall of Famer

Published by jakob under Uncategorized

Basketball is becoming one of the favorite sports of people all throughout the globe. Unlike other sports, basketball is relatively easy to understand. The popularity of the sport led to the formation of the Basketball Hall of Fame. The honor is given to those who have made exceptional contribution to the sport.

One significant character who has been given such honor is Robert Allen McAdoo. His induction in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame happened in 2000.

Before he joined the NBA, McAdoo attended Vincennes Junior College and the University of North Carolina. He already played for the two schools back then. McAdoo led the Tar Heels in the National semifinals. However, they lost to the Florida State.

He qualified for the 1972 NBA draft. He started his career in the National Basketball Association in 1972 when the Buffalo Braves drafted him. He stayed with the team, now the Los Angeles Clippers, for five years until 1977. When he joined the league, he made his presence known by winning the Rookie of the Year award in 1973. He also won the Most Valuable Player award in 1975. He made the NBA All-Star five consecutive times from 1974 to 1978.

During his first few years, he became one of the best big men shooters in the league. In his second season in the NBA, he bagged three shooting titles. In the mid seventies, many basketball enthusiasts would name him as the fastest big man who ever played in the NBA.

However, there were also some down moments in his career. He was injured several times and fans and experts felt that he had only given a mediocre performance.

Many thought that his time has ended in the mid seventies. Many blame this to the other teams he joined. Most of the teams that welcomed him were not among the dominant teams at that time. He played for the New York Knicks after leaving the Braves in 1977. He played for the Boston Celtics in 1979. After that, he played for the Detroit Pistons and New Jersey Nets in 1980 and 1981 respectively.

However, it was not until he joined the LA Lakers that he tasted what it felt like to win NBA titles. He played for the Lakers from 1981 to 1985. Together with other great players, the team earned two NBA titles, one in 1982 and the other in 1985.

After great seasons with the Lakers, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers and played there for a year. From his first team, the Los Angeles Clippers, McAdoo played his last NBA season with the 76ers. However, he did not stop playing basketball.

He played for some European teams after the NBA. In 1990, he played for Olimpia Milano. He led the team in two European Championships. He retired after playing for Teamsystem Fabriano in 1993.

Although there were some point in his career where he felt defeated, McAdoo was able to prove his greatness over and over again. This and more, made him worthy to be part of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Whether you are looking for grocery coupons or coupons on clothing, there are several places you can look to help you save money. There is no sense in paying full cost when there are coupons out there to save you money. All it takes is a little research and a small amount of effort for you to save that bank account of yours.

While you can find coupons in stores and in newspapers, the best place to find coupons is online. But are you wondering where to find coupons online? The internet is big, but it can become difficult to find certain items if you do not know where to look.

The first thing you want to do is determine what kind of coupons you are looking for exactly. Typing in coupons in a search engine will get you nowhere if you do not know what kind of coupon you want. There are 126 million results that come up when you type in coupons in a Google search engine.

Typing in basketball coupons, for example, knocks the results down to 559 thousand. Even that is a bit much, making it essential you are extremely specific. If you were to type in basketball shoe coupons you are down to 222 thousand results, which is much more reasonable.

If you are looking for just basketball coupons, there is nothing wrong with having 559 thousand results to choose from. But you will want to stay within the first two pages of results to get the best coupons. After all, there is a reason those web sites are at the top of the search engines.

Another place to find coupons online is through forums and chat rooms. Get in a forum that has to do with the topic you are interested in. If you want to purchase basketball attire, get in a basketball forum. Once in there, talk with people in the forum about where you could find coupons online and what the best coupons are.

Lastly, look on the company’s web site for coupons. Companies many times have coupons and deals on their web sites that will save you a significant amount of money. And can also save a lot of time and the trouble of having to look everywhere. The coupons frequently change as well, allowing you to get a variety of coupon choices on different products.

There are a number of places you can look to find coupons online. While it may seem like too much work, going out of your way to find coupons can save you loads of money. Then, take the saved money and put it toward a family vacation or buy more stuff online!

I Bet They Play Whiffle Ball Now In Heaven

Published by jakob under Uncategorized

After the death of my grandfather, a few years passed and I began to hear about a friend of mine who was having quite a health challenge.

Juan Chesson was probably the nicest guy you would ever meet. He was a year older than me. I was in several classes with his younger brother, Harold. Their father was a teacher and coached high school football and baseball. Consequently, Juan participated in sports and grew up playing whiffle ball, basketball and football with his brother and friends in their backyard. When he got older, Juan played high school football and baseball. Of course, he received all of the sportsmanship awards.

An avid runner, Juan stayed in better shape than any of us once we graduated high school. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, many of us would get together and play basketball full-court. Several of the players had been all-conference and all-state athletes. Yet no one wanted to guard Juan, because he was always in such great shape!

A good student, he graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Mathematics. He eventually became a high school teacher and baseball coach in Asheville, North Carolina. He had a happy and satisfying career and was making a difference in the lives of his young students.

Then he found out he had leukemia.

Juan went through the traditional medical treatments, using chemotherapy. After a lengthy battle, the leukemia went into remission. When we heard the news, we all let out a sigh of relief. After all, Juan was one of the good guys. But he was not yet out of the woods.

Eventually the leukemia came back again, this time stronger than ever. Juan fought the good fight, but this time the disease won. Shelton Juan Chesson, Jr. passed away in the fall of 1999. He was just thirty-two years old. He left behind a wife who was eight months pregnant.

Juan’s death made me think long and hard about a few things. I realized that I could take nothing for granted in life, especially my health. If it could happen to Juan, it could happen to anybody.

Every once in awhile, I find myself wondering about my friend. I bet they play whiffle ball now in heaven. All because of Juan.
